Territory Business Development Manager - Public Sector at Vivacity

We are looking for a dynamic Territory Business Development Manager with experience selling into government and related agencies, within Northeast America. Salary $100,000-$120,000 ($200,000-$240,000 OTE). Reporting to: Rob Stait, Chief Revenue Officer. Location: remote, preferably based in or around New York.

About the Role As our first direct recruit in the USA, this is an opportunity to lead our launch in North America and, through the growth you generate, to help build and establish a thriving and rapidly scaling business. Our unique and market-leading technology has seen us grow 100% year on year in the UK. Those same unique factors are nowhere more relevant or more in demand than in North America. This role will be at the forefront of a thrilling new phase for VivaCity and offers huge potential for both role progression and for earning prospects. You will be the lynchpin of a US team which we will build over time. Generating new business and becoming the face of VivaCity within local government in Northeast America. Using a balance of consultative and challenger selling capabilities, you will build a network of contacts who trust your expertise and believe in our product, establishing growing relationships which lead to large-scale sensor rollouts, and developing leading industry figures as advocates for VivaCity.
About you We are looking for a dynamic, results driven and personable sales professional, who has a passion for cutting edge tech and Smart Cities to join our friendly team. Priority management, excellent communication skills and attention to detail are key to the success of this role. You will need to have the drive and motivation to be able to work collaboratively and independently to develop relationships with your clients, stakeholders and teammates. You will have the ability and resilience to adapt and thrive on a challenge and turn this into an opportunity.
What you'll be doing:Seeking, developing and closing opportunities with local governments and related verticals covering Northeast America;Working closely with the lead generation team to identify high potential prospects;Promptly qualifying and developing inbound opportunities;Identifying and closing small wins whilst managing longer, high value and complex sales cycles;Presenting to key stakeholders including divisional heads and directors at local authorities;Managing your leads and pipeline to critically analyse and optimise productivity;Delivering an excellent client journey and experience;Putting together demos, pitches and RFP/RFIs;Participating in marketing lead activity, including seminars and trade shows;Attending and presenting at weekly and monthly team meetings and other internal events;Accurately reporting your pipeline to your line manager, and seeking support where appropriate to ensure deals are won;Collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver in line with customer expectations;Understanding the competitive landscape, customer outcome objective trends and other external influences to effectively position VivaCity's value proposition.
