Tax Manager - Investments at Octopus Energy

Following significant investment over the last 12 months, the Renewables Generation division of the Octopus Energy Group has grown significantly.

In this newly created role you’ll be responsible for all tax matters arising from the fund structures and the investments made both domestically in the UK, and internationally.  You will report into the Group Senior Tax Manager for the Octopus Energy Group but will have autonomy to run this role as your own in the context of Generation specifically. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a tax manager with deal experience who wants to take on the ownership of tax management for a fast growing business line that is expanding internationally and domestically. What you'll do Take the tax lead on the structuring of investments and funds- structuring will either be done in-house or outsourced depending on the deal in questionIdentify tax risks and exposures and advise the wider investment team of the implicationsInput into valuations when required by the investment teamEnsure that any new investments work with the existing fund structure(s)Lead on transfer-price analysis on non-UK funds and establish a directory of rates/margins etc. as a shared resource that we can use across the team Manage the tax compliance advisors across all funds – reviewing their work and ensuring all filings are completed on a timely basisWork with the finance team to ensure that the agreed structuring is implementing post completionWork with the wider tax team to ensure that all group relevant matters are identified in a timely mannerWork with the asset managers to ensure the relevant entities are tax compliant and meeting filing requirements for additional elements such as SAO, CByCR etcKeep the teams updated with any relevant tax developmentsWhat you'll needQualified tax professional preferably with UK and International exposureStrong technical ability across the taxes with the ability to balance risk and reward and make appropriate decisionsThe ability to learn and understand complex technical issues quickly and have strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships and communicate with associates at all levels across the business.  The ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and keep to tight deadlinesWhy else you'll love it hereWondering what the salary for this role is?
