-We are looking for an analyst to join our team to support the continued exponential growth of our business in Italy. You will bring alive insight around actual and expected performance, support planning & budgeting, and be actively involved in supporting acquisitions of customer books or supply business entities as well as wholesale procurement agreements as opportunities arise. Your role is to drive analysis crucial to the financial performance of the business and inform senior management decision-making.What you'll doAnalyse and present actual performance vs plan including prepare monthly KPIs, board materials and other financial reporting for internal and external stakeholdersBuild, refine and update real time forecasts for company performance incorporating areas such as new wholesale trading arrangements, high growth acquisition strategies, and weather stress scenariosWork collaboratively with different teams to forecast and refine analysis for potential new campaigns and strategies, especially with the Data team, accounting team and operations teamWork closely with the Financial Controller and Services finance resources to project cash and short to medium-term funding requirements and with Strategy and Business Development department in order to work on new opportunities that could arise in the marketDevelop new features as the industry/business changes, i.e. new smart products, changes to industry regulation, integration with other business units What you'll needBe excited about tackling the urgent issue of climate change through supporting a high-growth business leading the energy transition; you don’t have to have prior experience in energy, but a strong desire to learn about the sector today and where it’s going tomorrow is a mustAt least 3-4 years of experience ideally in financial modellingMaster’s Degree in Economics/EngineeringGood English knowledge is a mustBe analytical, but capable of working with stakeholders across the business to understand the operational realities of the numbersBe ready to roll up both sleeves and get stuck into complex modelling but also talk 'big picture' with senior stakeholders and key suppliers that you interact withBe fast-paced in approach but understand that change in organisation requires engaging with people in different waysBe able to present complex information in simple waysBe curious and open-mindedWhy else you'll love it hereOctopus Energy is a unique culture - An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker.
