We are looking for a flexibility lead in Spain to supercharge our internationalisation efforts. The Flexibility team at Octopus is responsible for creating and deploying next-generation smart tariffs and offers to customers around the world - we are working to maximise MW under management and use these to create value for customers. The team’s work includes Intelligent Octopus - our leading managed demand product with 60,000 devices under control and growing rapidly - and initiatives like Saving Sessions - our leading demand shift programme in homes.

We need a locally based member of the global flex team and the Spanish team, reporting to the senior leadership group, who can act as a liaison between local teams and the wider group. They will need to own and be responsible for delivering the Spanish flex strategy, build new products and offerings that work for customers in the local market, and support the efforts of our business in Spanish to accelerate energy’s transition to a flexible future. They are responsible for delivering growth for the flexibility portfolio.What you'll doLaunch attractive flexible energy offerings for the Spanish market, including Intelligent Octopus and new products, and drive customer growth. Work with local and global teams to set product requirements, and localise and implement in the country.Understand, qualify, and successfully monetise aggregated loads in all relevant markets and services, with an emphasis on driving market evolution in parallel.Engage stakeholders, including the regulator, government and system operators, to widen market accessIdentify and secure new opportunities for flexibility across the energy system, from generation through to demand.Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to grow Flexibility programmes.Partner with marketing and acquisition teams to grow customer and assets managed by Intelligent Octopus.Drive thought leadership around the energy transition and champion a consumer-centric energy system.What you'll haveGood understanding of energy market rules (ideally Spanish energy markets) and a network in the local market, experience working directly with energy markets or ancillary services is a plus.High ownership - you take responsibility for your work and drive stuff at pace independently.Entrepreneurial mindset - you can value and pursue highest-value opportunities.Delivery focus - you understand and can provide evidence on how to get stuff done and work across a wide range of stakeholders.Strong and confident communication both written and verbal.Fluency in Spanish and English, other European languages a plus.Passion for shaping the energy transition in Spain and an ability to get stakeholders behind this mission.Strong problem solving and lateral thinking skillsWhat you'll love about usOur company culture - we won best company to work for in 2019 and our CEO, Greg has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people   Flexible working environment - genuine work life balance here, we are in the top 5 companies in the UK, we treat you as a human, and do our best to make work and life merge smoothly together Relaxation - we don’t count your holidays here, we work hard, and so we know you need to play hard as well (within reason of course) Equity Options Scheme - you own your own part of the business, share options in the whole Octopus Energy Group so we all work together towards success Office culture - have a certain tech requirement? You do need to be able to work in Spain/EU without a VISA though.
