Software Engineering Manager at Recycleye

Our values are empowerment, inclusivity and perseverance and we work as a team to succeed.  As the Software Engineering Manager, you will work with our tech lead and the software team to help build the core tools to scale our products. You will work to improve customer experience, monitoring, alerts, and scalability in the company with a set of highly talented and motivated engineers all working to solve problems in the world of recycling.What your role will entail: Growing & hiring a diverse and brilliant engineering team. Coaching and mentoring engineers with weekly 1:1s
Ensuring our engineering team keeps a healthy and high velocity of delivery. Unblock any engineers, hold high standards, but also make sure the team is getting the right amount of rest to take on the bigger challenges
Drive best practices and raise the bar on engineering quality and processes
Requirements Proven leadership skills as line manager to a team of at least 5 engineers
You have a technical background and strong software engineering experience
Experience in building and running a high-performing team knowing what it looks like and how to shape it
Happy in a startup environment with high-levels of ambiguity – a go-getter that is used to setting up processes and communication channels from scratch
Ability to talk directly to clients, manage customer issues while protecting developer deep-focus time
Used to working with product and management to align engineering goals, and great at motivating a team towards them. Translation layer between software and the wider company/clients
