This is a Zepz role, supporting both WorldRemit and Sendwave. Please note this role is a hybrid role with up to 3 days in office at Sandton

About the role

The Treasury Operations team is core to the success of each transaction and is primarily responsible for FX trade settlements & Treasury payments across a comprehensive range of currencies. You will have Impact across trade and funding lifecycle, ensuring a seamless end-to-end transaction cycle . 

The Treasury Operation Manager will provide global oversight in managing day-to-day processes efficiently to reduce operational risk. Role holder will be responsible for the team performing end to end payment, trade confirmation and settlement activities across EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions. The role is heavily focused on process improvement and support of  strategic automation projects.

Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you will:

Manage the global team providing a trade settlement and payment processing service across MEA, APAC and LATAM. 

Ensure that the team is managing the payment process efficiently through the day and clearing settlements within currency cut-off times.

Serve as an escalation point to resolve complex settlement and payments operational issues and facilitate resolution across the team. 

Develop and implement procedures to enhance efficiency and automation. 

Assist Treasury Management team to create high standard control frameworks and ensure  all areas of Treasury Operations are functioning in line with the policy. 

Build working relationships with internal global teams, banking partners and liquidity providers. 

Responsible for implementing and reporting accurate KPIs and KRIs. 

Provide subject matter expertise to the business. 

Project lead on strategic Treasury Operations projects (e.g. SWIFT, TMS etc.).

What we’re looking for from you

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the bank or other FI. 

Significant knowledge of business processes, systems used in payment and FX settlement process. 

Experience with SWIFT messaging and the various payment platforms.

Knowledge of the front to back Operations process (confirmations, settlements, risk, controls).

Experience with emerging market currencies and working knowledge of currency scheme rules and requirements.

Experience of implementing projects (systems implementation, designing operating procedures, policies)

Strong ability to problem solve and exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines efficiently within fast-paced environment

Ability to think strategically considering impact to wider business. 

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
