Job Description
The RolePachama is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to assist the Controller in executing on several high-priority initiatives to help the Company get to the next level. Pachama’s accounting team is focused on completing an ERP implementation, supporting international expansion and alternate financing structures, and undergoing an initial financial statement audit, which are integral to scaling our reforestation and conservation efforts.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated interest in climate tech and a combination of both audit and industry experience.
LocationThis role is fully remote. However, being within 3 hours of Pacific time is preferred for this role given cross-functional communication responsibilities.

Through the Pachama marketplace, responsible companies and individuals can connect with carbon credits from projects that are protecting and restoring forests worldwide.What You Will Help Us With:Assisting with the month-end close process: Posting journal entries and preparing monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, as well as performing an income statement fluxManaging day-to-day operations: Performing daily cash and inventory reconciliation, invoicing sales and paying bills, as well as managing our credit card and expense policyBuilding the foundation for our initial Financial Statement audit: Documenting processes, implementing internal controls, and ensuring our financials comply with US GAAPAiding in automation: ERP implementation (QBO<>NetSuite), and other systems integrationsExperience & Skills We're Looking For:5-8 years progressive accounting experience, with a mix of audit and industry requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree in Accounting preferredActive CPA license requiredStrong working knowledge of US GAAP required, experience with ASC 330 & 606 preferredQuick learner with strong attention to detail, able to identify issues and resolve problems by applying critical thinking to complex accounting issuesAbility to challenge the status quo and leverage technology to build scalable processes, gain efficiencies, and streamline accounting operationsEffective time and project management skills; ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in order to meet team and company goalsAbility to work independently as well as collaborate cross-functionally, exceptional written and oral communication skills to succeed in an a-sync environmentStrong excel skills (vlookup, sumif, pivot table) and experience reconciling large data setsExperience with QuickBooksOnline, NetSuite, Salesforce, Bill.com, Ramp, NotionExperience with inter-company transactions, elimination and consolidation preferredExperience in inventoryExperience completing a successful ERP implementation preferred, QBO<>Netsuite a plusInternational Tax and VAT experience a plusEven if you don’t meet all these requirements, we encourage you to apply if this job description excites you.
