About the Role:
Imperfect is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager responsible for managing the monthly general ledger accounting and reporting close process to ensure timeliness, completeness, and accuracy in accordance with GAAP in a high-growth environment.You'll work cross-functionally and collaborate with key Finance business partners (FP&A, IT, Ops, Marketing, etc.) to develop and-or refine processes to streamline the close process while ensuring adherence to accounting policies and controls.Responsibilities:Manage monthly close process including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, corporate credit cards, cash, revenue, inventory, payroll accounting and the procure-to-pay process.Manage and review work of other accountants with responsibilities in the GL and Accounts Payable functions.Collaborate on workflow design with key Finance partners on development of processes, policies, systems, controls, and compliance, fixed assets, revenue, inventory, close, etc.Develop process improvements and drive efficiencies in processes/systems in order to create a more streamlined monthly close as the Company continues to scale and grow.Partner with the Controller on the implementation of new accounting standards or accounting for non-standard transactions.Lead, grow, and develop existing team to support Accounting specific requirements as well as the overall growth of the company.Liaise with external auditors to manage various audit requirements.Work with external tax service providers and outside counsel on indirect and direct tax compliance and other legal/compliance matters.
B.S. Degree in Finance / AccountingA CPA license and Public accounting experience is highly preferred Minimum of 5 years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAP Experience with NetSuite and/or other mid/top tier accounting systems and toolsAdvanced excel skillsDemonstrated ability to lead, develop and grow the existing team as well as develop/maintain strong cross-functional relationshipsAbility to multi-task and take on a large volume of work in a high growth environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and communicationYou’re passionate about our mission to eliminate food waste and create a better food system for all
