Founded by brothers Jonathan and Alex Petrides in 2017, allplants makes plant-based living exciting and easy, delivering mouthwatering, healthier food to busy homes UK-wide. The science is irrefutable. Eating more plants is the #1 way to help yourself and our planet thrive. That’s why, at allplants we’ve started by helping the rapidly emergent plant curious consumer, by making eating more plants a supremely positive and exciting choice: a fiesta of flavour, not a fast.
Since launching in 2017, allplants is already the leading plant-based living platform in Europe having served up >4 million meals to UK homes who subscribe for feel-good, healthier living. This track-record has resulted in a record-breaking Series B raise in Summer 2021, setting the company off on its next phase of explosive growth.
The plans for 2022 and beyond are as exciting as they are delicious - growing the kitchen and product range to serve a growing community, scaling the teams, expanding the current office space in Blackhorse Road (The Greenhouse), as well as open a second office space in Angel (The Veg Patch). The allstar allplants team is ready to scale their inclusive celebration of food to the next level and is looking for talent like you to join its journey.
It’s rare, as a programmer, to have a physical impact on the world. With your code at allplants you will literally be putting food on our customer’s tables.
This is not a job where you’ll just sit and turn specs into code, it’s a rewarding role where you’ll be building the fundamentals of an experience that our users, partners and the allplants team themselves will love.
Reporting into our Growth Squad Lead, you’ll be building a rich set of Python systems on top of SaaS (like Shopify) and open source tools (such as ERPNext and Akeneo) to help run our growing food business.
You’ll also be part of our backend tribe, where all of our backend engineers get together to upskill each other, share best practice and discuss the future needs of our backend stack and platform.
What will you be doing?
● Improving our Python/Flask platform to better serve our clients
● Extending our PIM (Product Information Management) platform to suit the needs of the business
● Writing high quality, simple, and clean code
● Placing emphasis on outcome rather than output (think OKRs)
● Aspiring towards TDD (but being pragmatic about it)
● Engaging in smart chatter about our code with the team
● Expected to dip into some frontend too e.g admin interfaces, data visualisation (we can help you upskill!)
