Planning Permission Specialist - Heat Pumps at Octopus Energy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Permission Specialist to join us in Brighton. At Octopus we want to make it super easy to ditch gas boilers and de-carbonise home heating by installing super efficient heat pumps.

Channeling our innovative spirit we want to establish the UK's first heat pump planning service so it is one less thing for our customers to worry about on their low carbon heating journey.

We are looking for forward thinking planning experts who know the processes backwards and can build a team that will seamlessly, swiftly and accurately gain the required permission for thousands of heat pump installations across all councils in the UK.So if you want to be at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution and put your hard won planning expertise to the test with the leading Green Tech company in the UK… please get in touch!What you'll do Submit, manage and advise on all planning permission applications.Ensure all applications are delivered and sent in a timely fashion.Use your extensive knowledge to teach team members the ins and outs of planning permission to enable them to have great conversations with our customers.Work with AutoCAD technicians to ensure that all designs meet required specifications and standards.To undertake projects to deliver service improvements to the planning function when necessary. You will establish a standard and efficient process to ensure hundreds of customer,  Heat Pump Planning Applications, are successful across all UK councilsWhat you'll needA recognised degree or relative experience.A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the professional and practical application of planning legislation, policy, procedures and related planning matters. Experience providing professional advice in a local authority context is preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracyTo be a team player and relationship builder. The ability to build great working relationships with people across cultures and perspectivesTo be agile. You are positive and proactive, and energised by working in a fast-paced environment characterised by constant changeA high level of adaptability and agility to manage multiple projects at one time (we are growing quickly!)You will be able to think creatively and logically to react to changes in strategyTo be someone who establishes and works with a network quickly to deliver promptly, with a focus on quality and deliveryYou will be analytical, seeking out data and using this to inform your decisionsEnergy industry experience is desirable but by no means essential!
