At Beyond Meat, we believe in feeding a better future and advancing this mission in Foodservice is our passion. We are seeking a National Distribution Manager who is eager to translate their passion into accelerating Foodservice volume & distribution across our network.
The National Distribution Manager (NDM) reports to the VP, Foodservice and is responsible for delivering volume and distribution growth through Dot Foods, Broadline, & Cash & Carry distributors.ResponsibilitiesCorporate call points include Dot Foods, Sysco, US Foods, Performance Foodservice, Gordon Foodservice, Ben E. Keith, the UniPro Cooperative, and national Cash & Carry. Distributor management: Directly owns and influences key corporate distributor stakeholders. Leads national and market level management of distribution priorities that support Foodservice Channel plans. Cascades national plans and programs into market level execution with Regional Sales as well as broker AEs. Supports local distribution center availability for Core SKU stocking. Growth: Develops insights-led category growth opportunities that inform annual distributor growth plans and programs. Works alongside key distributor leaders and stakeholders to develop joint category plans with quarterly execution initiatives. Develops sales programs and new product introductions that cascades out to distributor reps. Executes distributor events with broker (food shows, sales meetings, etc.) that ensure new business and category leadership. Pursues new distributor partnerships to ensure seamless product availability in white space. Business Acumen: Achieves assigned net revenue, volume, distribution, and share goals within established budget. Develops annual business plan and prioritization to achieve Foodservice Channel priorities and deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Manages budget for each distributor as well as associated billbacks and deductions. Ensures programs are properly planned and measures post-program performance. Develops systems, process, and tools that equip sales to deliver KPI’s and plan. Broker Management: Leads and influences the dedicated broker distribution managers as an extension of their sales team. Ability to adapt national broker priorities into clearly communicated regional plans supported by the right tools, and consistent training that equips the broker to win. Qualifications7+ years of proven CPG Foodservice sales and distribution experience. Experience with branded value-added products is preferred. High pressure contract negotiation experience with distributors.Proven ability to quickly establish rapport and influence with key stakeholders Forecast development and attainment.Sales agency (broker) management experience with proven ability to drive results with an indirect team.Strong business and financial acumen with trade budget management experience. Exceptional strategic sales and negotiation skills.Solid interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact, motivate, and engage effectively with internal as well as external contacts.High integrity and commitment to team. Results-oriented self-starter with a bias to action.Fluent in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and trade management systems. Undergraduate degree or equivalent military experience required.Must excel in multi-tasking and prioritizing within a fast-paced organization.Work EnvironmentUp to 70% travel via driving air travel, and overnight stays.Ability to work out of a home office located within assigned region and within 50 miles of a major airport. The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD 100,000 and 130,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
