Waste is one of the world’s biggest problems and the only viable solution is an accelerated transition to a global circular economy.
Today, according to the OECD, only 9% of the world’s plastic has ever been recycled, with the rest ending up in landfills and incinerators. This is partly due to the high cost of manual waste sorting, but at Recycleye, we are changing that. We’re reinventing the economics of recycling for the global waste management industry through intelligent waste sorting automation robotics.
Our team is on a mission to turn the world’s waste into resource, by combining ground-breaking computer vision, machine learning and robotics technologies like never before.
Our goal is to fully automate the $2.5 trillion waste recycling industry and to achieve it, we are being supported by global players such as Microsoft, FANUC and Arrow Electronics.We’re looking for up to 3 Mechanical or Mechatronics engineers to join us as key hires on our journey to developing the recycling infrastructure of the future. You’ll have the opportunity to play an integral role in building a world-changing product while developing your own skills and qualifications.The RoleThe Hardware Team is looking for 3 mechanical engineers with at least two years of relevant experience to model robotic solutions for our clients, feedback problems during design, and highlight improvements that we can make to the product.

Responsibilities Mechanical design (assembly, drawings to suppliers,

etc.) and site visits through Europe to match the characteristics of the

space at our client's facilities Help to ensure that projects are led and delivered

effectively and at a very high pace. Follow-up with clients, send them

reports and documents related to the project. Travel to different facilities as required by the project's needs; ad hoc site visits and attending installations once a

month over weekends. Perform ad-hoc fabrication and modifications of some

of our standard products for specific use cases.
Improving our product and processes to aid the

company’s scalability and quality.

You’re a good fit if you: Have a growth mindset and are willing to learn and adapt Are excited about being an early-stage hire in a start-up. Requirements Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical engineering. Relevant experience (two years minimum) in building products/solutions in a fast pace environment A keen interest in solving the problems within the recycling industry. Experience using CAD and producing drawings for manufacture. Hands-on attitude: you are happy to go and sort out problems at client locations if need be or to assemble one of our products and do some troubleshooting when necessary. Good to have Experience with power tools and how to use them safely.
