Mechanical Assembly Technician at Octopus Energy

We are looking for an experienced domestic or commercial plumber to work closely with an established Research and Development team of design engineers and help us strengthen our in-house prototyping capability. What you'll do Work closely with mechanical and electrical design engineers to assemble and optimise new products related to the electrification of heat.Work in the state of the art Octopus Energy Research & Development Centre, based in SloughJoin an established team of Mechanical and Control EngineersUse your hands-on skills to turn concept designs into prototypes and finished productsBuild test rigs and assist with testing activities

What you'll needStrong ability in plumbing and mechanical assembly to a high degree of precisionGood knowledge of domestic plumbing systems and an understanding of the theory behind components and piping layoutsAbility to read P&IDs and follow them to install systems or build assembliesExperience in a workshop environment, using a wide range of power tools and hand toolsExperience leading a small team in practical tasksWillingness to learn new skills and gain qualifications relevant to the electrification of heating technologiesExperience fault finding in plumbed systemsIt would be great if you had... F-gas qualification or hands-on experience with refrigeration systemsBrazing and welding skills     Experience in creating a bill of materials from P&IDs and 3D modelsExperience using AutoCAD or Solidworks      CNC machinery and fabrication shop experienceExperience with electrical assembly workWhy else you'll love it hereWondering what the salary for this role is?
