As part of the wider Octopus Energy group, Octopus Renewables sources, invests in and actively manages a range of utility scale renewable energy assets. We are looking to expand our team as we continue to scale our investments base of c£4bn.

Since entering the renewables market in 2010, Octopus Renewables has grown to become the largest investor of solar power in Europe and a leading investor in onshore wind. We currently manage an increasingly global portfolio of renewable energy assets. The operational portfolio includes over 250 energy generating companies, delivering revenue in excess of £250m pa. 

The role sits within the Octopus Renewables’ Funds Finance team, reporting directly into the Financial Controller. OR Funds Finance are responsible for the financial reporting and analysis for an expanding portfolio of renewable assets that are owned by a number of Retail, Institutional and Listed Funds. These assets have a growing international presence across the UK, Europe and Australia.  What you'll do Review and challenge management accounts provided by Administrators.Review and challenge quarterly distribution payments provided by External Asset Managers.Prepare financial information for external Board Meetings. Ensuring financial information is accurately presented in Investor Reports.Delivery against fund reporting timetables.Project manage fund level and SPV level audits and review of statutory financial statements and corporation tax returns; liaising with external auditors as required.A point of escalation for team queries – taking ownership of requests and issues where necessary, creating stakeholder goodwill by providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner.Ensure a robust control environment is present throughout each of the funds.Ad hoc reports and analysis as required.New transaction responsibilities:Assistance with the financial and tax due diligence workstreams for new transactions.Organising completion payments in line with the funds flow.Assisting with the onboarding of assets once acquired.Build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.What you'll needQualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP (understanding of Lux GAAP knowledge also an advantage)Knowledge of fund accounting and fund structures including GP/LP and AIFs preferredExperience of working with renewable energy investment assets and an understanding of relevant subsidy schemes is preferableGood understanding of CIR and other basis tax rules would be an advantageKnowledge of SUN/Vision would be an advantageHighly organised, able to plan ahead to deliver accurate information to tight reporting deadlinesExcellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work well with different teams and manage a range of different stakeholdersSelf-motivated and aspirational, comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environmentWhy else you'll love it hereWondering what the salary for this role is?
