Head of People Operations at Pachama

The Role:Pachama is looking for a Head of People Operations to develop our most valuable asset - our people. We are looking for our first dedicated People Ops generalist, who will work alongside our business leaders to develop a high-performing, mission-driven culture. You will be simultaneously defining overarching people ops strategy while overseeing all day-to-day people matters, for Pachama’s remote team across the globe.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for continually improving the entire end-to-end employee experience, including L&D, compensation, performance, and culture & engagement. You’ll work closely with all functions at Pachama and be the “go-to” person for any HR matters. Location:This role is fully remote. However, being within 3 hours of Pacific time is preferred for this role given cross-functional communication responsibilities.

Through Pachama Originals, companies can start projects from the ground up, making catalytic investments in the next generation of tech-enabled forest carbon projects.What You Will Help Us With:Create highly effective onboarding plans to seamlessly transition new hires joining Pachama, and own ongoing Learning & Development for team members of all levels.Develop, own, and roll out Pachama’s compensation framework, including global salary grade structures, incentive pay, and equity strategy.Lead performance review cycle including calibrations and promotions, and introduce new ideas to encourage regular performance feedback.Support our CEO and Leadership team to clearly articulate Pachama’s culture, values, and principles, and operationalize them day-to-day.Conduct ongoing assessments and establish opportunities to improve team engagement, by reimagining company events, affinity groups, and communication.Be a trusted and reliable HR resource for our team by effectively troubleshooting both people and operational issues.Oversee all day-to-day HR administration including payroll, immigration, benefits, labor law compliance and regulation.Own all aspects of employee onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.Experience & Skills We’re Looking For:7+ years of People Operations/HR experience in a high-growth startup and/or mid-size organizationDiverse experience successfully identifying, implementing and adopting people programs and initiatives.Deep understanding of how to define, influence and evolve company cultureEffective communication and presentation skills, with experience designing training programs and engaging company-wide communicationAbility to establish strong relationships with people at all levels of the organizationStrikingly unique balance of excellent communication and time management skills coupled with extreme attention to detail and a sense of urgencyStrong analytical skills to make decisions grounded in dataExperience with the latest people ops tools (e.g. Rippling, Lattice, Deel) and successfully rolling out new systemsNice-to-have: experience working with a remote distributed global workforce$173,000 - $179,000 a yearThe salary range for this position is $173,000 USD to $179,000 USD. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The salary for each posting reflects the compensation for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
