Bulb is looking for a new Head of Metering. This role directly contributes to Bulb having cost-effective, compliant metering operations and delivering its annual smart meter rollout.
This is a senior commercial and strategic role at Bulb. You will ensure the Metering and Smart teams at Bulb are delivering improvements for our Members.
This role will report to the UK General Manager and will be part of Bulb’s Extended Leadership Team and UK Management Team.
You’ll help Bulb achieve our mission by:
Managing key third party relationships with our MOPs, MAMs, MAPs and other metering agents--> Own relationships, ensuring we pay competitive prices and are invoiced correctly --> Ensure our operational processes support our contractual terms with MAPs--> Maintain a view of all other metering agents e.g. ESG, that are managed by other Pods to ensure Bulb has a single source of truth on all our third party metering relationships
Taking responsibility for our metering operations & cost efficiency--> Ensure we are compliant with all relevant codes and regulations relevant to metering--> Improve metering processes (e.g. new connections)--> Understand metering data and identify ways to reduce our metering costs--> Deliver a great member experience of metering, working with Ops and Product to improve both member- and ES-facing products--> Coordinate training for other Bulb teams
--> Excellent knowledge of energy industry schemes, regulations and best practice--> Technical metering knowledge, or previous experience of complex technical problems--> Experience with smart meter architecture and third parties in the UK: SMETS1 and SMETS2--> High level of financial and commercial awareness, for example demonstrated through successfully growing a business P&L. Experience working in Strategy is a plus--> Excellent problem-solving skills. Naturally curious and enjoy identifying and delivering solutions to complex problems, by using technology--> Excellent communication skills, you “keep it simple” and make complicated details and problems understandable to a non-technical audience--> Experience working with cross-functional teams across product, service and operations and growth/marketing to get things done--> Experience managing a team--> Adept at using data and insights to aid decision making commercial context--> A drive to Make it Better. You look for gains in efficiency and make them happen--> Self starter, comfortable with ambiguity--> A member-centric view
