Founded by brothers Jonathan and Alex Petrides in 2017, allplants makes plant-based living exciting and easy, delivering mouthwatering, healthier food to busy homes UK-wide. The science is irrefutable. Eating more plants is the #1 way to help yourself and our planet thrive. That’s why, at allplants we’ve started by helping the rapidly emergent plant curious consumer, by making eating more plants a supremely positive and exciting choice: a fiesta of flavour, not a fast.
Since launching in 2017, allplants is already the leading plant-based living platform in Europe having served up >4 million meals to UK homes who subscribe for feel-good, healthier living. This track-record has resulted in a record-breaking Series B raise in Summer 2021, setting the company off on its next phase of explosive growth.
The plans for 2022 and beyond are as exciting as they are delicious - growing the kitchen and product range to serve a growing community, scaling the teams, expanding the current office space in Blackhorse Road (The Greenhouse), as well as open a second office space in Angel (The Veg Patch). The allstar allplants team is ready to scale their inclusive celebration of food to the next level and is looking for talent like you to join its journey.
It’s rare, as a programmer, to have a physical impact on the world. With your code at allplants you will literally be putting food on our customer’s tables. As a growing food business, we make it easy for people to learn about and order our food through a simple and accessible website providing a blog, onboarding quiz, shop and account management.
This is not a job where you’ll just sit and turn specs into code, it’s a challenging and rewarding role where you’ll be building the front facing part of an experience that our users, partners and the allplants team themselves love.
Reporting into our Growth Squad Lead, you’ll be be focused on building out new frontend features and improving existing, working closely with product and design. As a growing food business, we make it easy for people to learn about and order our food through a simple and accessible website providing a blog, onboarding quiz, shop and account management.
You’ll also be part of our frontend tribe, where all of our frontend engineers get together to upskill each other, share best practice and discuss the future needs of our frontend stack and platform.
What will you be doing:
- Building upon our React/Next.js frontends within our Nx monorepo for our e-commerce website
- Creating sharable components and libraries to be used across our frontend applications
- Writing high quality, simple, and clean code
- Placing emphasis on outcome rather than output (think OKRs)
- Aspiring towards TDD (but being pragmatic about it)
- Engaging in smart chatter about our code with the team
- Expected to dip into a tiny bit of backend too (we can help you upskill!)
