We have an exciting opportunity to join our decarbonisation of heating team as we explore products for the UK market and beyond.

Being part of the founding team, we’re looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join the Electrification of heat team. You will be joining a team that is innovative and forward thinking and you’ll have full autonomy to work creatively. What you'll do Design control algorithms for heat pumps and associated heating control devices, model control systems in C/C++ and Python, to interact with analogue inputs and sensors on I2C / SPI interfacesIntegrate and test control algorithms with external devices across various protocols (such as Modbus, CANbus) and transport layers (such as WIFI, RS-485, TCP)Work with the Electronic engineers to design and implement control solutionsWrite, maintain C/C++ code for ’bare metal’ / RTOS embedded devices Review field performance of the product, identify issues, and work with suppliers to resolveWrite automated tests for production validation and integrate them into a continuous integration environmentTroubleshoot electrical and firmware issues, in new designsTroubleshoot issues in the lab as well as in the field during alpha/beta trialsCollaborate with other groups on the design and implementation of new features

What you'll need A degree in Embedded Firmware Design or equivalent Good, demonstrable work experience in either embedded design or firmware
