Job Description

We're looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join us. Salary: ยฃ45,000-ยฃ60,000 + commission (OTE up to ยฃ110,000). Reporting to: Mariana Barrios de Jordaan, our Head of Sales. Location: remote, based in either London or Ireland.

We are currently rolling out thousands of these sensors across the UK, Europe and beyond, and we need passionate Business Development Managers to help us do it.

About the role

Joining as a Business Development Manager, and based in either London or Ireland, you will become the face of VivaCity within local government in the island of Ireland while also assisting the UK team with some clients. Using a balance of consultative and challenger selling capabilities, you will build a network of contacts who trust your expertise and believe in our product, establishing growing relationships which lead to large-scale sensor rollouts, and developing leading industry figures as advocates for VivaCity.

We are looking for a dynamic, customer-centric, and personable individual to join our friendly team.ย Priority management, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are key to the success of this role.ย You will need to be able to work collaboratively and independently to develop relationships with your clients, stakeholders and teammates.What you'll be doing: Seeking, developing and closing opportunities with local governments and related verticals in both London and the Republic of Ireland.Working closely with the Lead Generation function to identify high potential prospects;Promptly qualifying and developing inbound opportunities;Identifying and closing small wins whilst managing longer, high value and complex sales cycles.Presenting to key stakeholders including divisional heads and Directors at local authorities;Managing your leads and pipeline to critically analyse and optimise productivity;Delivering an excellent client journey and experience;Putting together demos, pitches, and RFP/RFIs;Participating in marketing lead activity, including seminars and trade shows;Attending and presenting at weekly and monthly team meetings and other internal events;Hitting revenue targets; Accurately reporting your pipeline to your line manager, seeking support where appropriate to ensure deals are won;Collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver in line with customer expectations;Understanding the competitive landscape, customer outcome objective trends and other external influences to effectively position VivaCity's value proposition.What we need to see: Based in Ireland;At least 1 year of experience in dealing with local governments, or selling into central government;3+ years of of experience in sales roles;Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets;Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;Strong presentation skills to audiences of all sizes and levels;Ability to quickly understand new software solutions and build great relationships with a highly technical audience;Demonstrated passion for the tech start-up community.The following would further strengthen your applicationExperience in selling complex technical products;Experience of fast-paced, high-growth start-up environments;Knowledge of the transport and/or mobility industry;Understanding of and experience in dealing with complex tender environments.You don't need to have done all of these things before, but to excel in this role you will need to be keen to learn and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
