The Bridge works to reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing by supporting women to make healthy life choices. This includes a gym, events, activities and our cafΓ© space and catering.
Health inequalities exist and theyβre increasing, made worse by the pandemic. Itβs a sad reflection on society that many in our community have to deal with the effects of health inequalities on a daily basis.
We want to play our part in changing this.
We work in the community with local women to overcome barriers and make healthy living an integral part of everyday life. We know that our programmes and services work and we have that on good authority β that of the people who use them.
The focus of our work remains on reducing health inequalities and on preventing and minimising risks to both physical and mental health. To achieve this, we have set two main priorities via our impact goals of promoting and supporting healthy living and good mental wellbeing. All of the projects we run and the decisions we take as an organisation are shaped by these commitments.
Our projects consist of various creative, wellbeing and physicial activity including creative writing, art therapy, walk and talks, socialising around nutritious food, our community fridge provision, drop in coffee mornings, subsidised gym memberships and wellbeing talks.
