We’re committed to following three simple rules:
- We’ll be open about the scope of our data, and transparent about its limitations and what we’re doing to address them
- We’ll support the principle that quantitative data should be used to support, evidence or challenge qualitative assessments, not replace them
- We’ll work with the bibliometrics and research assessment communities to better understand the data we collect, and to develop research backed approaches to using it

Overton is a friendly, forward looking start-up with big ambitions to support evidence-based policymaking across the world. We have built a pioneering platform that allows users to discover more than 7.5 million policy documents and their links to each other, to academic papers and to relevant people and topics.

We work with leading global universities, IGOs, NGOs, research funders, publishers and think tanks to understand their role in the policymaking landscape – tracking the evolution of ideas all the way from academic and think tank research, through knowledge brokers and other intermediaries, to government reports and legislation.

Overton was founded by Euan Adie, who previously founded Almetric.
