Carbon13 is selecting and supporting 1000 entrepreneurs over 5 years who will build scalable ventures with the potential to reduce carbon emissions by over 400 million tonnes.
Through our Venture Builder, founders form cofounding teams and launch scalable ventures in decarbonisation or carbon capture. Each venture that we invest in must have the potential to reduce emissions by 10 million tonnes per annum.
Each venture we invest in must have the potential to take 10 million tonnes out of the CO2e emissions base per year.
Our founders work with our network of hundreds of domain experts, entrepreneurs in residence, and carbon experts in residence, to understand the carbon lifecycle of their solutions - and maximise their potential to decarbonise.
Each cohort of 70 founders is drawn from all over the world, from different industries, skillsets, demographics, countries, age groups, skillsets. Breakthrough innovations come from cross-sectional communities. Half our ventures are software-based, the other half are hardtech/science-based. The average age of our founders is 37, with founders from their twenties to their sixties. So far, 50% of our ventures are led by women.
Carbon13 is the Venture Builder for the Climate Emergency. Our mission is to support more than 1000 entrepreneurs over the next 5 years to launch hundreds of decarbonisation and carbon capture ventures, with the collective potential to take 400 million tonnes out of the emissions base.
Carbon13 grew out of the Cambridge ecosystem of academia, entrepreneurship and innovation.
