Social impact stats everyone should know

Here are some quick-fire stats that show why getting behind something that matters, well, matters.

Obviously we think that making a positive impact on the planet or society should be at the forefront of everyone’s minds – whether you’re looking for a new job or building a business.

But why should you?

Here are some quick-fire stats that show why getting behind something that matters, well, matters.

It matters to employees đź‘©đź’»

By 2025, millennials are estimated to make up 75% of the global workforce. And guess what a lot of millennials care about...

In fact, 30% have actually left a job in the past because of the company’s lack of a sustainability plan.

It matters to employers đź’Ľ

While the stats above should be reason enough, research has also shown that employees are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs if they are working for a company that is perceived to be "green."

Employees in these “green” firms are also more motivated, receive more training, and benefit from better interpersonal relationships.

Research has also shown that workers who report that their employer is environmentally and socially responsible report, on average, having better mental health.

It matters to consumers 🛍

77% of consumers are more likely to use companies that are committed to making the world a better place.

There’s no doubt about it, consumer habits have changed for the better - and we are here for it.

It matters to investors đź’¸

As of the end of 2021, the UK impact industry was worth £50 billion and employed 35,000 people. That’s growth of 127% since 2018!

Pretty tempting for potential investors, right?

38% of investors have gone a step further and sold shares because of this very reason.
